i dreamed a dream

 i have many hopes for myself, for others and for the world at large. reading through the newspaper every morning makes me ponder over the cruel reality of life. i see people taken away from their friends and family abruptly, kidnapped and never found, vehicle accidents, natural disasters etc. i see foreign workers living in flithy and undesirable places in singapore, people sometimes forget the fact that they are the ones who slogged their hearts out to set the foundation of our very wonderful landscape, pity isnt it? i see young hearts of this century committing grave mistakes, thus wasting the best time of their life paying for it. i see many impulsive individuals succumbing to temptations, doing unforgivable actions without considering the consequences. this is the country we live in. & at times we turn a blind eye to such matters. i may be a small teenyweenypuny figure, but i have countless ambitions. i used to dream of being a detective (after watching CSI), a hardcore pingpong paddler, or maybe just an author due to my passion in reading. but thankfully i chose to pursue economics instead. i like to see how the world evolves, how the surroundings change and hopefully, people get better and richer. i wished i possess good analytical skills. |
